Creating Opportunity Through Youth Football

Youth football is about more than the result on the scoreboard. It is a place for young people to build confidence, learn teamwork, stay active and connect with mentors and teammates.

These photographs capture a community football experience in California, with young players taking part in team activities, training and match play. The images show the value of creating welcoming environments where children can enjoy the game, learn from others and feel part of a team.

For Shenen Sports, grassroots experiences like these reflect the wider purpose of sports development: helping create access to sport, encouraging participation and supporting positive pathways for the next generation.
